Forgotten Projects - Old Crypto Investors Remembers #8

Hello everyone!

Today I want to talk about 3 projects related to one thing - cannabis. To be honest I can't recognize any project today which is trying to bring cannabis economics on/to blockchain, but back in 2014 some developers tried to do that, even though they have failed all three projects were around for many years.

Let's talk about the oldest one (there is not big difference between them all, only like few weeks), the CannabisCoin. The so called Marijuana Bitcoin was created to make it easy for people in the marijuana industry to carry out transactions between them. Back then there was no such a thing like a meme coin so we can be sure that the developers intentions were honest. Fun fact is that during the 2018 bull run CannabisCoin peaked to $0.34 so potentially you could even make nice profit if you had diamond hands since the launch.

Another project is DopeCoin, this one have very interesting website, during the last bull run it peaked to almost $0.18 and then vanished from the crypto world. There is not much to talk about that one and I will just move to the next one :)

The last project for today and I would say the most successful one of all those three projects is PotCoin. By ''the most successful'' I meant that it ''achieved'' the highest place in the rank. POT started as Proof-of-Work but later the consensus has been changed to Proof-of-Stake as it's been a better solution for the environment, additionally to that by 2015 POT had few community build ATMs in several dispensaries in Colorado, making PotCoin one of the first crypto-centric decentralized organizations in history to have an exclusive interface with the public. Unfortunately, it's been too early for any public adoption as people still preferred to use cash. In 2020 POT coin migrated to Polygon network.
