I've recently begun reading The Bitcoin Standard. What a text. Honestly monumentally inspiring, and if it weren't so against everything that our centralized powers stand for I would expect it required reading in schools.
On the other hand, it has opened my eyes to the sightless masses. Now it is everywhere: "the government can spend as much as it wants," "large economies do not work like the individual's budget," "spending more is necessary to prevent a recession."
I have vague recollection of hearing such sentiments when I was younger, though I ignored them as I didn't truly understand or desire to understand economics. Now I have more of an understanding, but I am far from an economist! Regardless, this seems like a major issue. As long as the people are made to be a part of a system which they don't understand, which many could never understand, how do we progress towards sound money?
I have faith in Bitcoin, I have faith that the people that make things happen in this world will choose Bitcoin, but I fear it will take quite a while if we don't educate the children.
Anyways, that's my rant. When I have more capital, maybe I will be able to do more to educate the people. For now, I will continue to gather knowledge myself.
