Author's Forenote: I speak read and write Chinese. I lived in China for a year, and lived in Taiwan for 8 years. In my sincere opinion, the dumbest thing on earth is to see someone who can't read, speak or write mandarin telling you what is going to happen in China almost as though they know it to be fact. These are literally "trustme bro" moments that serve no one any good (of course exceptions apply when satellite imagery comes into play, but alas I digress, this is crypto).
Sometimes I wonder if my position on this topic is too conceited, or if people who read about these things are looking for Hopium or maybe a mix of both. Another way of looking at someone arbitrarily saying, "China will unban bitcoin." is to imagine someone saying, "China will unban Facebook / YouTube / Twitter." The important part about this is, China's government bans whatever it cannot exert physical or logical control over.
In all honesty, I'm not trying to sound like an avid supporter of the CCP, but you'll see official announcements regarding anything bitcoin on .gov.cn web domains, and not twitter or bitcoin.com.
