Why are you in crypto?

Don’t have specific metrics at the moment but it’s very evident that Crypto adoption is growing. Startups, venture funding, bag holders…everything. Look at this sub - has grown by a few millions since I am here.

So the ultimate question - why are you in Crypto? I have a theory which is likely wrong but here how it feels - the first batch of people came to rebel against centralized system, then came the people who were in for the Tech, followed by people who wanted to build new services based on Crypto. Then unfortunately came those who just wanted to make money out of information assymetry. After this I think was the golden era when masses moved (retail investors at scale) to be part of crypto - invest, make money, talk about it. Then came some people who thought they could outsmart the market to make disproportionate returns, some are in jail now. Where we are now is a mix of all types of people. Maybe necessary, maybe a need for more rationalization but this is where we are. It would look different in 5-10 years for sure.
