I'm not a cryptographer so I wouldn't know and I'm not trying to start any FUD but I've heard that Elliptic Curve Cryptography is not considered a Quantum-Safe or Post Quantum Cryptographic algorithm. Looks like Ethereum will be replacing patricia merkle trees with verkle trees which are based on elliptic curves[1].
I'd like to think the Ethereum developers know what they're doing and have Ethereum's best interest but then that would require trusting people in a space that's suppose to be trustless.
